Hey all! I'm Rachel!
My b/f's name is Matt and he's in the Army Reserves!
He is currently at BCT at Fort Leonard Wood!
I'm a student at Elon University in my senior year! I'm applying to law schools trying to pull together what I will be doing after graduation currently. I am also trying to just push through and finish my fall semester! So excited to spend Christmas with my baby! He practically told me I could not keep up with him on a bike and I was like you wanna bet? Basically he hasn't learned yet not to challenge me! ha! Anyways we've been dating for about 3 months now, and I could never imagine being with anyone else! Crazy right? Maybe, but I love him!

Short story summary:

We met at the YMCA working together for the past 2 summers. We became closer as friends this summer and well I always thought Aww he will make some girl very happy someday! Then the lady behind the front desk caught on to our chemistry neither of us completely picked up on...and well encouraged Matt to ask me out. About a month later he did and we've been together since! I couldn't ask for anything better!

yeah my hubby always tried telling me that he can out run me, i do think he can though lol im really short and i have short legs hahaa

haha yeah I'd get running in like 10min pass out haha! Plus my knee is not so strong from dislocating it... lol. So I have to run with a brace which slows me down even more haha! I'm going riding with my sister tomorrow hopefully to start working on it! I have 2 1/2 weeks to get myself back up to par lol. At least enough to keep up with him and his BCT improved self!

Haha...it was like 3am by the time I finally went to bed. Just couldn't settle down last night. Slept too much that morning I think!

Thanks for the luck! I need it! I'm hoping to get into some schools here in NC to be near Matt since he'll be at undergrad next year. He's taking this year to do all of his training and was a smart boy and applied to school before he left to make sure they couldn't deploy him before he goes. I'm just hoping he gets in! I know he will though, he's a smart boy! We're talking about moving in together over the summer...haven't broken that one to the parents yet...ehhh. My mom raises her daughters to be independent women...and well I need to finish law school and all that jazz...I'm waiting till I figure out where I am going to law school before I break the news to her. Eh...lol.

Talk about going to the mall with your mom and sister and having only arguments! It got better towards then end. I was in a bad mood do to a headache and being annoyed that Matt hadn't called yet. I finally figured out this lovely trick on sending him texts and locking the texts because he has verizon like me soooo I can see when he gets the texts and that tells me when he has his phone and is going to call. I feel sort of like a paranoid g/f when I do that, but sometimes its just comforting to know. haha. I'm wondering though if he can't call today because he got to call family for like 45 min on thursday for thanksgiving. Who knows. Typically they always get privileges on Sundays. I have no idea...just glad the holidays are almost here so I can just be with him! Oh and I went to look for some stationary today to write to him on and there is nothing! I'm going to try another store, but I am tired of writing on notebook paper. He writes to me on cool Army issued stationary and I write on notebook paper...I feel like a slacker lol! But the art of letter writing is going out as my mom tells me with all the technology today! They should realize us Military gals still need it!!!

Haha thanks i think...He took his thinking they'd just keep it for the entire time he was there, but everytime he calls its on his cell. He gets it back for phone calls. None of us were expecting that based on what we've been told by others. Lol...but hey I'm not complaining! That means he doesn't have to fight for a phone there.

they always take them away and they let him call on sundays. and sometimes during the week if they are good.

is he coming home for christmas?

Yep! The 19th...I have to talk to his parents about going with them. I am stalling calling...parents make me nervous lol. I love both of his but still I feel like I always need to make a good impression even though they except me. My ex's parents are probably the cause of that, scary overprotective father lol. It was like I was the guy being threatened with a shot gun by the father...way to flip the dynamics. Matt will leave the 2nd of Jan. to go back. After that he just has about a month left till he graduates. Then 2 weeks leave before AIT in AZ. I'll probably be visiting him a couple of times while he's there.

No...I meant he'll be home for 2 weeks before he gets shipped to AIT. He'll be there for 13 weeks since his MOS is 35F

he gets to come home every goverment holiday!
for only four days. but it also depends on how he does in school and gets good grades in class and on his pt tests

The PT tests are no problem for him. He beat everyone on the first day at basics, its just how he is. Loves running and all that jazz. Plus he always has to be the best. He is always sweet in his letters and says I'm the motivation behind it all. To get it done and thats one step closer to being with me and being home.

If he does get the government holidays off that means Memorial Day...sooo maybe he will be able to see me graduate in May! Which would be awesome!

aww, i remember my s.o used to say that all the time.
once he gets to ait, the tests will get harder. but if he did very well at basic he should have no problem.

i remember, after my hubby graduated from basic. he had like 9 hours to spend with me on family day, and then he had to go straight to ait.
it sucked sooo bad.
so youre lucky he gets to come home! lol im so jealous of you hehe

I know the day he told me on the phone I was sooo excited! I wasn't expecting that much. I didn't even know if I could fly out yet since its during class time for me. Have to clear it with all the professors. The one down side to going to a smaller school, the professors notice if you are absent from class and care too. lol.

maybe if you explain to the pricipal or who ever is the head of the school you situation, they could probly give you a pass to go and just give you an extension on your work??

yeah i wouldn't miss a graduation for anything. i would quit my job to go to benny's EOD graduation. It's a big thing for him to get his crab. he's done a lot of work for it
