My Army adventure!

Hey yall! Im Sarah im 19 im from a very small town in SC. My honey is Kyle he is 21(for 3 days now.lol.) We met 6 years ago and have been friends ever since. On septembemer 10th we became "Official" then on sept. 15th the Army took him from me. Yea one heck of a relationship start.lol. But in January he'll be coming home to me. Hopefully for a little while atleast. Im still very new to the whole military life. So if you've got any good advice let me have it i want the good, the bad, and the ugly. Im pretty much your typical southern girl. If yall want to know anything else...Just ask!!

Hey I know what you mean by the Army took him out of your life. I had more time than you thanks goodness but still it sucks to just begin a relationship and then have it be put on pause till they get back from training or whatever they are called to do. Does he get to come home for Christmas Exodus? And where is he at?

He's active.

He's at Ft. Knox. I don't know if he's coming home for exodus. Since it has to come out of his pocket. So who knows.

instead of paying 400 bucks,

the site reduces it for only 200 or more but way less than the normal price of a plane ticket

my husband ticket to come home costs 225

i'll let him know. I hope he comes home. i miss him like crazy. But i dont know. You know how waiting for letters. And trying to communicate threw them.

so he's doing OSUT? That's gotta suck.. well if the base is crappy atleast. OSUT stands for One Station Unit Training incase ya didn't know

Thanks i was wondering what that ment.lol. I love Kyle but he forgets im not like his mom and have done this 4 times before. Yep military family! So he uses the acronyms and i usually have no clue what he's talking about. Yea i cant believe he's not coming home. He's just being cheap.lol.But if that's what he wants i guess ill have to suffer until he graduates in Jan. Although he told me that he may not get to come home once he graduates. He said he may have to go straight to his post? Do yall have any idea about that??

my hubby said that if hes considered "single" in military eyes then he could go straight to his duty station.

his post is just wherever he'll be stationed. It all depends on what his job is.. hopefully it won't be too far =/

I remember you, I think. You were on MIG, right? My boyfriend did his training at Ft. Knox!! He was there from January until the end of May. He graduated from the BCT part in March, and then did AIT til May 9th when I got to go visit him! Then.. he had to stay an EXTRA 3 weeks for stryker training. He got to come home for a month before he went to his duty station. He got hometown recruiting though, so that had something to do with it too. I would've been completely depressed if he got sent straight there since he went to Germany! By the way, I'm Sarah.. LOL.

Im so ready to know where his duty staion is. He said prolly not Germany or egypt. Or NC,SC(which sucks!) TX, KY, and a few others that i cant remember right off the top of my head. Im so ready for Jan. 30 that's graduation day!!! I hope they let him come home atleast for a few day they should weather you "Single" or not that's kinda screwed up. But we'll know soon if this month flies by like the last one did. He said he'll know his duty station end of dec. begging of Jan. Just hopin and prayin it's somewhere close.lol. i know we all hope that.

oh yeah. mine got his two weeks before graduation. turns out they messed up. and now he's graduating in 3 days and still no order

I hope they dont mess his up. If they do i hope they end up sending his closer instead of futher away. I was crushed when he said prolly not NC or SC. I live in SC and im about 2 hours from the post that would have been awsome but oh well we still have GA. Which is only about 6 hours from the house. but i hope we know soon.

it has all his info. like his
"my pay" wich gives him all the information about his checks. and how much exactly he's getting and so forth
his "erb" (enlisted record brief: its basicall his history while being wherever he is.and it also tell you where he will go next after graduation.
and his assignment key"
is where he wishes to go. he gets 3 conous options and 3 oconous options.
and it also tell him wish "on assigment" he will be in. and it give you the date he's suppost to report to his next station.

im sure he knows all about it.
its also important that he checks it because sometimes they get important mail from the camanders and stuff.
and also if he gets a station to go to, they will email him
and basically tell him what he needs to do before he leaves/

if he doesnt mind you looking at it. ask him for his username and password. if he doesnt hhave one he needs to make one

Yes, Thanks that was very helpful!! We havent been datin that long so his mom has all that stuff which is perfectly fine.lol. And we didnt really get a chance to talk about anything other than the "Do you think you can handle it" talk and the" This is bascially how my lifes gonna be" talk you know the basic stuff thats really all we had time for.lol.

Yeah I really hope you find out soon where he's going to be.. sorry it may not be SC or NC.. which would be amazing! I was hoping Benny would be stationed really close to me for training but noooo he had to go clear to the other side of the country..LAME so I haven't been able to see him for over 7 months. Thank god he comes home in 18 days
